Salvatore Scarpa

Musical Director

Salvatore Scarpa is a graduate of Rowan University and the Eastman School of Music, where he majored in Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media. He has served on faculties of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Camden County College, and is now a faculty member of Rowan University, where he conducts the University/Community Orchestra. He is Assistant Conductor of the Pennsylvania Ballet and Music Director/Conductor of the Bel Canto Lyric Opera Company. He is an active composer and arranger and winner of Downbeat Magazine's "dee bee" award for Best Jazz Arrangement. In 1993, he was honored as the New Jersey Musician of the Year.

Bryan Appleby-Wineberg

Assistant Musical Director

Bryan Appleby-Wineberg is Principal Cornet and Assistant Conductor of the Atlantic Brass Band, and Associate Professor of Trumpet and Brass at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, where he teaches Studio Trumpet and Trumpet Methods, and plays with the Faculty Brass Quintet.For the 2009/2010 academic year, Bryan and his family were on sabbatical in the United Kingdom, where Bryan played solo cornet with the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Band, as well as the Lindley Band in West Yorkshire.Bryan is currently Principal Trumpet of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony, a founding member of the professional trumpet quintet Tromba Mundi and a member of the Bombastiq Brass Quintet in New York City.He holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.M in Trumpet and Music Education), the Cleveland Institute of Music (M.M. in Trumpet), and the Mason GrossSchool of the Arts at Rutgers University (D.M.A. in Trumpet).
